As one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding their staff and seeking a Security Estimator to join the FSG team.

As a Security Estimator, you will play a key role in developing project estimates that support both customer proposals and internal pricing efforts. You will work closely with sales, design, AV, structured cabling, and procurement teams to ensure accurate takeoffs, material specifications, and competitive pricing. Your expertise in security systems and product knowledge will help to produce effective solutions that deliver value and meet customer expectations.

As an FSG Security Estimator, you will:

• Perform detailed takeoffs from construction drawings, security system layouts, and specifications.
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine security product requirements and quantities.
• Generate accurate material lists and install schedules based on takeoffs.
• Request and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Prepare submittals, install schedules, and supporting documentation for customer proposals.
• Collaborate with sales, design teams, structured cabling and AV teams, to review project requirements and optimize security solutions.
• Apply value engineering techniques to identify cost-saving alternatives that meet performance standards.
• Stay up to date with security technologies, codes, and product trends.
• Maintain internal project databases and estimation tools to ensure consistent, up-to-date pricing.
• Support procurement with transition from estimate to order, ensuring product availability and timely delivery.

Required:

• Experience in security estimation and specifications for new commercial construction or tenant improvement projects.
• Ability to perform accurate takeoffs from construction drawings and security system plans.
• Solid understanding of security systems, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, and Open Options.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and professional communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating tools.
• Accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality work.

Preferred:

• 3-5 years of experience in security estimating focused on new construction lighting packages.
• Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Accubid or equivalent.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, security systems and standards.
