Overview

As the Journeyman Electrician, you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. The ideal candidate will not only mentor and nurture Apprentice Electricians but also embody FSG's core values through exceptional customer service and a strong commitment to safety in every project.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares detailed sketches that illustrate the locations of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams and blueprints to ensure that concealed wiring is installed prior to the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Plans new or modified electrical installations to minimize material waste, ensure accessibility for future maintenance, and avoid the use of unsightly, hazardous, or unreliable wiring, in accordance with specifications, safety codes, and local electrical regulations.
  • Plans the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to job specifications and local codes.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels; installs Buss, Busbar, electrical feeders, power systems and/or switchgear.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
  • Works from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Advises management regarding the potential hazards associated with the continued operation of equipment.
  • Meets attendance standards and adheres to late/absence notification procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
  • Three to five years of electrical construction experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Positive customer service skills
