As one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding their staff and seeking an Electrical Service Estimating Manager to join the FSG team.

 

As an Electrical Services Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team that develops accurate cost estimates for electrical service projects across commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. You will work closely with the sales, operations, and project management teams to ensure the delivery of competitive and profitable pricing that aligns with customer requirements and industry standards. In addition to overseeing the estimating process, you will train, mentor, and manage a team of estimators, implement best practices, and drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

As an FSG Electrical Service Estimating Manager, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Electrical Service Estimators, fostering skill development and consistent performance.
  • Oversee the review of project specifications, drawings, and scope requirements to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to define project scope and assess customer needs and feasibility.
  • Coordinate with field teams to gather site-specific data that enhances pricing accuracy.
  • Review and approve comprehensive estimates for electrical service work, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and other project costs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with material vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and dependable sourcing.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while upholding quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support the development and presentation of proposals, bid packages, and client deliverables for major opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, labor rates, and material cost fluctuations.
  • Support project teams with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for electrical service contracts.
  • Maintain organized, detailed records of estimates, vendor pricing, and historical project data for team reference and continuous improvement.
  • Track team performance metrics and support continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, efficiency, and output.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven leadership experience managing or supervising an estimating or electrical services team.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industry codes, and construction practices.
  • Hands-on experience in cost estimation for electrical service or construction projects.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (or Google equivalents).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide innovative energy solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for site visits and customer meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Master Electrician license is a plus.
  • Experience with recurring electrical service contracts and maintenance pricing.
  • Experience working with estimating and design software tools.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
