As one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding their staff and seeking an Energy Solutions Designer to join the FSG team.

 

As a member of our FSG Energy Solutions Team, you will work closely with Business Development and Sales teams to develop detailed energy efficiency and sustainability solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. You will utilize your expertise in lighting, HVAC, and other Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) to design comprehensive solutions that align with customer needs and project objectives.

Responsibilities

As an FSG Energy Solutions Designer, you will:

  • Collaborate with Sales teams to analyze customer energy efficiency needs and design optimal solutions.
  • Work with the Field Specialist team to perform site audits of viable lighting, HVAC, and other ECM solutions.
  • Develop detailed solution designs, including equipment selection, layout drawings, and system specifications.
  • Assist in preparing technical presentations and documentation to support sales efforts.
  • Ensure designs align with industry standards, utility rebate programs, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with estimators to provide accurate cost assessments for proposed solutions.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and clients throughout the pre-sales process.
  • Assist in securing partnerships with material and labor vendors to support solution implementation.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical design capabilities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong knowledge of lighting, HVAC, and energy efficiency measures.
  • Experience in designing energy-efficient solutions for commercial and industrial applications.
  • Ability to develop detailed technical drawings and solution layouts.
  • Proficiency in software and tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Eco Insight, and SnapCount.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and recommend effective energy solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (or Google equivalents).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required for site visits and client meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, lighting, or HVAC design for C&I clients.
  • Experience with utility rebate programs and financial incentives for energy projects.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar industry certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related field.

Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
